The Night WA Shined – ‘A Night With Our Stars’ 2011

Books, bears, armour, autographs, instant noodles, a string of sausages and laughter galore. ‘A Night With Our Stars’, 2011 at Westbooks had everything including demons with detachable heads and BARLAY (look out) – the woordatj!

What a great evening for the authors, illustrators, librarians, teachers, parents and book-lovers of Western Australia. As an ANWOS first-timer I was wide-eyed with wonder. How could all of these talented people just … be here? They’re sitting among us, chatting with us over nibbles and dazzling us with three-minute talks about their books from 2010.

Westbooks made it easy to enjoy the evening, MC Joanna Andrew kept the ball rolling, while Jenni Woodroffe and her team of CBCA WA volunteers had all bases covered. There was nothing much for guests to do but listen, laugh and line up for an autograph.
